Cryofibrinogemia

Abstract
Cryofibrinogen screening was carried out using EDTA blood samples which were taken from 1,544 cases of patients and submitted to the Chosun University Hospital from February 1975 to September 1975 for the hematological tests.
Of the total cases studied, 100 cases (6.5%) were found to be cryofibrinogenemia. In cases of cryofibrinogenemia the sex ratio of male to female was 1.04; 1 and its contents were distributed in range of 2% to 70%. The diseases associated with cryofibrinogen contents having 30% or more were liver abscess, appendicitis, bronchopneumonia, pulmonary tuberculosis with pleural effusion, gastric ulcer perforation, stab wound with pleural effusion, rheumatoid arthritis, ureteral stone, and hypertension.
Among the diseases related to cryofibrinogenemia liver abscess was more likely associated with it, which was thought to be a characteristic result in Korea.
